Cindy in Da House
Cindy in Da House
On 21/9/15 there we kids in blue uniform pouring into Pt England School. There were 3 school’s present. Glenbrae,Ruapotaka and Te Pua. It was terrifying because they were running like wild animals.
I went inside the school hall and they were watching a musical named, Cindy in Da house. Kids were all seated and well behaved. Some of Pt England students were acting out the whole musical. The students from Pt England were well trained at being actors.
In the musical there were Dancing, Acting and Singing. It was remix of the Cinderella story. They had a projector playing everything in background, Probs. They had a scene when they all had Prefects’ Ball.
There was a scene where Josh was in the Gym and was thinking about a girl for the Ball. His Mind was all on his rugby that he forgot there was Prefects’ Ball and a partner. He is the XXV Captain. Then he found the right girl. The dancing they had was awesome. The Prefects’ Ball was so intense the DJ turned it on!. Everyone was putting on their own moves.
Cindy(Josh’s GirlFriend) stormed in and rocked up her dance moves. Then when she was running away, I don’t know why her Jandal Fell off. Josh found the Jandal and wanted to find her. So he had his friends to find her. They walked all over G.I just to find. They went to a lot of houses and never found the right pair. Then they came to the last house they were going to check. Finally they found Cindy and she had the right pair. Then they got together and lived happily ever after.

WALT:skim and scan for facts on how waves are made
How Is A Wave Formed
Facts:
1.Waves make their way through the ocean.
2.Wind interaction on the surface of the ocean far away from the coast can create some of the best waves on earth.
3. In deep low-pressure systems, wind speed is greater and more waves are generated by the power of the gusts.
4.The height of a wave when it is created is not the height of the waves that is ridden by a surfer.
5.Local shore winds can also produce waves.

The Big Game by Sue Gibbison
Friday 13th March
The Big Game by Sue Gibbison
I learnt a new strategy to write Reading Responses. I used the key words in the question to help me look for an answer in the text. I also read around the text to find my answer.
By using this strategy, I was able to answer my questions correctly. I felt excited because I am getting better at answering questions.

Me and My Culture
Me and My Culture
WALT: To be ourselves and respect others in a manner that is good.
Today the year 7 and 8 students from room 9 and 10 had a session with Petia Wilson and Leah Tuia. We were there to talk about respecting others and to be ourselves. Petia and Leah split us into our ethnicity cultural groups, Samoan, Tongan, Cook Island, Niuean, Maori and African.
Each group was given a sheet of paper, we all had to fill in the boxes. When the time was up each group had to present their ideas through action or song. First, Samuel from Africa presented his ideas, then it was the Niuean group who did it. Niue did a traditional haka. Next was my country Samoa, I lead our traditional haka called Siva Tau. After that it was the group from the Cook Islands. Finally it was the turn of the Tongans who sang a traditional song.
Last but not the least was Tangata Whenua Maori who did the pukana. Pitea drew a picture of a super hero to finish the session.

WALT: We are learning to write a recount about positives and negatives about life.
For the last two Thursdays, Room 9 has been going to room 11 to learn from a new programme called Kiwi Can. This Programme is about building positive relationships, respect, values and positive communication.
Our tutors are Mr Numia and Miss Tuia. We played a lot of different games and did role plays in 3 groups. Through these role plays, we learnt about positive and negative things about life.
I liked the Kiwi Can lessons because we got to participate in different activities as a team.
