Narrative (Failure)

On a windy afternoon, Ben, Tom and John just left their homes and went to a conference at Auckland City. They were so excited because they were promoting a video igame from the apple company. Tom was so hyped he backflipped off a car. “Check this out” said Tom. Everyone looked and was amazed. Than these random Boys Sam, Taki and Tyler walked passed and said “Oi boy look at this” Tyler backflipped off a building and landed on his face. Smack! Tyler’s teeth fell out. They quickly rushed him to the hospital and luckily he barely survived.

Basic Potato Recipe

Last week we were surprised by Miss Stone. It was part of our writing group. We had to make a dish but it had to have potato in it. All the boys in our group all joined and made a group. We wanted to make Potaco. It's a combination of Potato and Taco. It was really tasty. Each group made their own dish.
Here's a basic recipe on how to make Our Very Own POTACO!:

Basic Potato recipe

Ingredients:

• One large potato
• 1 tablespoon olive oil
• 1 tablespoon of butter, softened
• 1 tablespoon of milk
• ¼ cup grated cheddar cheese
• salt and pepper
• Sour cream 1 tea spoon each
• 50 grams of mince (pre made)

Instructions:

1. Rub potatoes with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper and poke a few times with a fork.
2. Microwave it for about 10 minutes (5 minutes on each side)  or until a knife slides easily into the center.
3. Cool for 10 minutes
4. Cut potatoes in half and scoop out the center leaving about ¼ inch around the sides.
5. Mash potatoes, butter and milk together.
6. Stir in half the cheese, the mince and sour cream.
7. Fill potato cups with the mash.
8. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top and place under the grill until the cheese has melted.

To make the mince filling, heat the olive oil in a heavy-based saucepan over medium-high heat and cook the onion for 5 minutes, or until translucent. Add the mince and cook for 4-5 minutes, breaking the meat up with a wooden spoon. Add the tomato paste and water and season to taste with chilli, salt and pepper. Stir the mixture well and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat to low and cook at a gentle simmer for 20 minutes.

My Golden NIssan

My Golden Nissan

One Sunny day, Tom was cruising down the countryside. Where the road is surrounded by high mountains, many kilometres long.There were no traffic around, just him and the road.The sun was shining, the wind was blowing and it was hitting the body of his car, reflecting the beautiful golden colour of his Nissan.

All of a sudden a loud pop sound came from the side of his car which Tom immediately recognized that he just got a flat tyre because the steering wheel started shaking. He slowed down and stopped on the side of the road ,turned the car off opened his door and jumped out.

He saw his  front right tyre was flat, he just ran over a sharp nail. Tom didn’t want to get his hands dirty but luckily he is a current member of the AA road side safety company. He quickly called them and they turned up 10 minutes later to fix his flat tyre. He was so happy with the service that he was able to get into his car and drive away to continue his journey through the beautiful countryside.

Pollution

Pollution is bad for our environment.

Pollution creates torture to our world.

Pollution is created by people throwing their rubbish on the ground. This is really bad for the world, and bad for us humans.

Car exhaust fumes is part of world pollution too. Pollution spreads around the world. It spreads country to country and city to city.

So we need to walk, exercise more and ride a bicycle or scooter, anything that doesn’t have petrol or cause pollution.

So  one solution could be that you can ride your bicycle to work or school.

So keep our world clean.
